Captus Generation is a subsidiary of BTG Energy, focused on developing carbon-neutral, gas-fired power generation facilities in southwestern Alberta. The company plans to build a full-scale, expandable power plant with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology, ensuring sustainable energy production.
Captus owns approximately 850 acres of land near Pincher Creek, where it intends to establish its clean energy hub. The site already hosts the Drywood Generating Power Plant, a 6MW natural gas-fired facility, with potential upgrades to enhance efficiency and capacity.
The project is currently in the early stages, with community engagement and regulatory approvals underway. Captus Generation aims to provide reliable, carbon-neutral electricity to Alberta’s power grid, reinforcing the province’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
