COPE-S Rio de Janeiro

COPE-S, situated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, serves as the secondary operations center for Telebras' Satellite Ground Control System (SGDC). This facility plays a crucial role in the operation and monitoring of the SGDC, which provides broadband internet services across Brazil, particularly for digital inclusion and accessibility programs. COPE-S is part of a larger ground operation structure that includes a main operations center (COPE-P) in Brasilia and three other gateways. The overall SGDC project is designed with redundancy in critical infrastructure systems, including energy, air conditioning, security, and connectivity, and the main operations center (COPE-P) has achieved TIER IV certification.
