earthDATAsafe is a high-security underground data center in Kapfenberg, Austria, operated by CANCOM Austria. Built within a former World War II air-raid bunker, it provides exceptional protection for sensitive company data, ensuring accessibility even in emergencies. The facility is SunTone-certified and ITIL-compliant, specializing in secure system operations and data archiving.

The bunker-based architecture offers 370 m² of initial storage space, expandable to 4,000 m². Security features include video surveillance, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), emergency diesel generators (315 kW & 800 kW), smoke extraction systems, early fire detection, and a nitrogen-based fire suppression system. These measures ensure maximum data protection against physical and environmental threats.

For operational reliability, earthDATAsafe employs redundant infrastructure, multi-layered security protocols, and optimized cooling systems. Its strategic underground location (up to 250 meters deep) enhances data security and availability, making it one of the most resilient data centers in Europe.
