The South Melbourne data centre is a Tier two facility ideally positioned in close proximity to the Melbourne CBD. Data centre integrity is ensured by purpose designed environmental management, security, electrical, and fire containment systems. Monitored 24x7 from our Doncaster facilities, the data centre serves clients in both the government and private
sectors. The facility is ideal for use as a production environment or as a secondary disaster recovery centre.

Security: Restricted access is controlled by an Electronic Card Access System that provides appropriate levels of access to different cardholders.

CCTV with recording: capabilities is monitored 24x7 by our operational staff located at our Doncaster facility.

Motion Sensor alarms: are fitted and monitored 24x7. In the event of alarm activation a patrol car is sent directly to the site.

Backup: All security systems are backed up by regulated power supply and battery backup.

Mechanical Services
The following is a summary of the mechanical equipment and capacities:

The computer room air conditioning system comprises of five processed coolers with a
downward air discharge into the sub-floor space. The units utilise both chilled and heated
hot water for temperature and humidity control.

The condenser water supply to the computer room units is served by two condenser water
pumps, one in use, the other for standby.

The cooling tower has a fully automated chemical/biocide dosing and bleed control system.
Fire Services

The following is a summary of the Fire Services:

VESDA smoke detection system is installed in the centre the detectors raise an audible
alarm in the building and trigger an alarm to the MFB.

Air conditioning for the building is linked to the automatic fire alarm systems so that air
handlers shuts down on alarm.

The data centre is serviced with a dry sprinkler system, which also reports to the MFB

The building is equipped with an Environment Monitoring System (EMS), remotely
monitored 24x7 by operational staff at Doncaster.
Electrical Supply System

The existing system comprises of the following equipment & capacities:
Within the room there are two General light & power Sub-Boards and one Mechanical Sub-

Detroit stand-by generator for computer loads, mechanical services and general lighting
and power, rated at 400KVA. The generator is supplied by 600 Litre fuel tank with an
additional 1000 litre tank.

No break Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) rated at 160KVA with lead acid batteries
which will maintain the computer load for up to 15 minutes.
