CDC Hume Campus Three DC2

CDC Hume Campus Three is a proposed data centre development located at Block 28, Section 23 in Hume, Canberra, Australia. The project, situated on a 12-hectare site, is planned to comprise four data centres with 24 data halls and a significant combined capacity of 576MW. This capacity is more than double CDC's existing and approved data centre capacity in Canberra. The development requires a full environmental impact statement, as ruled by the ACT Conservator of Flora and Fauna, primarily due to the need to clear 30 large trees on the site, which provide habitat for threatened bird species like the Gang-gang Cockatoo. The project is in its early stages, with details to be refined during ongoing planning and environmental work. The site is zoned for general industry and is adjacent to the Monaro Highway and Hume industrial precinct. The proposal also involves considerations for threatened species, including the Striped Legless Lizard, and is subject to the Eastern Broadacre Strategic Assessment.
