Construction of a new €11 million ($13m) data center in Zagreb, Croatia, began in October 2020. A1 Croatia contracted Vertiv Croatia to develop the facility, located at the intersection of Većeslav Holjevac Avenue and Nežićeva Street.
Designed with resilience in mind, the 2,000 square meter (21,500 sq ft) facility is engineered to withstand earthquakes up to a magnitude of 9 on the Richter scale. This focus on seismic stability follows a 5.5 magnitude earthquake that struck the city in March 2020.
The data center includes its own substation powered by two independent sources, providing a maximum capacity of 2MW. When operating at full capacity, the facility will house up to 300 IT cabinets across six technical rooms.
