Panama is well known as an off shore heaven with lucrative conditions when it comes to taxes and regulations, attracting gaming companies and many more businesses that take advantage of the increased privacy, lower taxes and lighter regulations on areas that are prohibited in a lot of other countries. The close location to USA and connectivity via submarine cables makes the island interesting as it can provide relatively low latency to the US.
