IAI’s new Data Centre offers a state-of-the-art, professionally managed, colocation facility designed for stringent colocation, Disaster Recovery, and server hosting requirements. Targeted at enterprise, government and institutional users with mission critical IT operations, the IAI Data Centre provides an environment of unsurpassed quality, meeting TIA-942, Tier III requirements. The IAI Data Centre has high capacity Diesel-powered backup electricity generation, redundant cooling, FM-200 clean agent inert gas fire suppression, stringent security measures and 24/7 customer access. The Data Centre is supported by IAI’s professional staff of experts working in a managed, process-oriented environment.

Based on a carrier neutral model, the IAI DC supports customer interconnection to all available telecom carriers. The IAI Data Centre is closely integrated with IAI’s own fibre-optic network, the VCFN and FBB community fibre-optic networks, as well as the ACORN and CANARIE networks.

Combined with direct high-speed fibre-optic access on IAI’s network, the IAI Data Centre offers substantial benefits for off-site hosting of corporate servers. The IAI Data Centre is ideally suited for customer Data Replication, remote SAN operations, and Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery requirements.

Power
Our high capacity in-line Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) prevents power spikes, surges and brownouts. Backup diesel generation provides continuous power in the event of a utility failure. Multiple-path power distribution, including maintenance bypass circuitry ensures non-stop service.

Cooling
State-of-the-art environmental control systems designed specifically for computer room cooling provide a robust, dual path control of temperature and humidity. The system is designed with N+1 redundancy and tied to our backup power systems.

Fire Detection and Suppression
The facility is constructed with FM-200 inert gas fire suppression systems that limit potential damage in the event of a fire.

Physical Security
The physical security of our data centre is one of our highest priorities. Built in a facility designed primarily for telecom applications, our location meets the rigorous physical specifications of the communications industry and is located in a safe, low seismic risk area. All areas are monitored and recorded using CCTV and all access points are controlled.

Networking
IAI’s Data Centre is a carrier neutral facility, enabling our customers to choose transport and service providers. We are located just 14 milliseconds from New York and 54 milliseconds from western Europe. And through partnerships we can provide direct network connectivity to Canada, the US, and western Europe. For customers in Nova Scotia, our extensive fibre-optic network creates private, high capacity, secure access to the Data Centre.
